About Me

Car Wash Signed, Sealed Delivered (I'm Yours)
Married over 20 years.
And I will tell you... EVERYDAY is a miracle! :-)
Blessed with 5 children, 2 boys
and 3 girls,
the youngest being twins.
Everyday IS a miracle, considering the way in which I was brought up.
Sex, Drugs and Rock and Roll.
I was definitely a child brought up in the 60's. I saw more than my share of that life... free love concerts in Echo Park... making sand candles and hypes in the bathroom.
The Lord was faithful, in the way of my 2nd grade teacher, Mrs. Tedders. She never preached Jesus to me, but she was Jesus to me. She was kind and gentle. Her husband was a baptist minister, whose church I would attend, when I could, taking my younger sisters.
After receiving Christ at 20, I felt like I played the hypocrite from the time I became a believer in 1982 til 2004, when I returned from a mission trip in Germany. I realized that I hadn't known the Lord at all. I didn't know HIM. Since that time, my walk has become more of a relationship. Especially in knowing Him in the fellowship of His suffering. It seems the more I desire to know Him, the more He stretches me... it hurts. . . and it's scary. . . but I'm learning to trust Him more moment by moment. I love the Lord and I feel His love for me and try to meet with Him as often as I can, espe in the mornings.
I am Mexican from California, but my grandfather was from Chihuahua, Mexico and his parents were descendants of Spain.
Places I've lived: East L.A. San Gabriel, Palm Springs, Hermosa and Redondo Beach, CA and now I live in Seattle.
I LOVE to go to concerts.
I was blessed to have known and been taught voice by the best, who took no B.S. from anyone...
"El Tostado" Don Tosti.
Breaking the barriers for Latinos everywhere... showing you can be latino/a and enjoy not just old skool or the latest, but music of every kind, play it and work hard. He forged a career spanning several decades and styles, from classical to jazz to rhythm and blues. He was best remembered for his Pachuco-style compositions like the hit "Pachuco Boogie." Recorded in 1948, it was the first million-selling Latin song.
If you listened and enjoyed the latest by Ry Cooder... Chavez Ravine...
El Tostado is honored as portraying the "Space Vato." iOrjale!

I'd like to meet:

I've been fortunate or unfortunate to have met alot of people in my life, that have been in "the know." And as the Apostle Peter, I do tend to be a "status seeker".... I admit it.

But there are very few I'd consider hanging out with for the evening.
Those I haven't met and would love to meet:
Pastor Raul Ruiz of Calvary Chapel Diamond Springs, Beth Moore, Charles Stanley,

Would love to spend some time singing with these people: My friend Jessilyn, Teacher from our Homeschool: Colleen (she is awesome!), Jon Gibson, Roby Duke, Tuck & Patti, Paul Carrack, Lee Ritenour, Patti Austin, Stevie Wonder... I know there are more, but it's late... I need to get some sleep.

Music has always been a huge part of my life. I've been buying records from the time I was 5 years old, to which I still own. If I had 50c to buy a 45 rpm, then that is where my money went.

Where do I begin? My musical influences are pretty broad. How about in alphabetical order.... or as close to it.

Abraham Laboriel, Al Green, Allison Krauss, Al Stewart, Andreas Vollenweider, Angie and Debbie Winans, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Babyface, Basia, Beatles (I have every album and every 45)

Bebel Gilberto,

her dad Joan Gilberto,

Ben Sidran,

My mom felt it was important that I know the music and life of Billie Holiday. She was a huge fan. So here I am, 11 years old, holding the book, Lady Sings the Blues, with instructions from my mom that I am to read it. Then she takes me to see the movie with Diana Ross, which I couldn't see, because I didn't have glasses to correct my vision, we were too poor. I'd have to wait another 2 years. Although, I was 11, I could identify with her early preteen days. Probably because we shared the same tragedies. Music was her saving grace... and mine.

Billy Stewart, Bloodstone,
