I was a football and track standout at Dorsey High School in Los Angeles, where I earned first-team all-state honor in football as a senior. I grew up near the USC campus and served as a ball boy for the Trojans for six years while also working as a runner for the Southern Cal sports information office. After being drafted by the Jets, I launched "Key's Kids," a program currently funded by the Shikiri and Keyshawn Johnson Education Fund which rewarded academic achievement and enabled inner city and underprivileged kids the opportunity to attend Jets and Buccaneers home games.I continued my "Key's Kids" program in Dallas in 2004, working with the Boys & Girls Clubs in the Oak Cliff area. In addition to attending the Cowboys home games, the kids had the chance to interact with Me at a special end of the season party hosted at Dave & Buster's in Dallas.
