Swimgreen is the 'love child' of two watery women (the curly one and the tree), created from our combined passions for social justice, retro treasures and seeking creativity in the world that surrounds.Through affirmative action Swimgreen has made it a personal mission to create a socially responsible business that endeavors to promote ethical and fair trade, environmentally sound products and "ahrt".Swimgreen's philosophy is "Come Swim Up Stream'', as we strive to create the alternative, by basing our business ethics on innovation, social impact and change.By hosting three sugar filled fundraising events in Sydney Swimgreen is on the way to creating our own ethical and recycled treasures with the N.G.O, DAWN (Development Action of Women's Network www.dawnphil.org). Through fair trade workshops products such as hand held fans, purses and diaries will be created from retro and recycled materials. Swimgreen aims to enable trading partnerships, which fundamentally fosters community development and sustainability. We aim not only to protect women in the informal sector, but essentially aspire for the empowerment of women and their respective communities.A percentages of all profits from these handicrafts will further go towards building a scholarship program for creative young talents, to provide greater opportunities for those bound by poverty.Swimgreen has planted the seed yet needs support to help change grow.
