RAISE FUNDS for the Save Darfur Coalition or other Darfur organizations.
Host a benefit dinner or ask restaurants in your area to donate a portion of their proceeds for one night to the Save Darfur Coalition. Check out a similar project, Dining for Darfur, for helpful tips.Merchandise: Sell Save Darfur Coalition wristbands or other merchandise in your community. Set up a table at events such as farmers’ markets and festivals. Visit www.savedarfur.org/store to order merchandise or to download a merchandise request form.Hold a fundraising dinner, concert or event. You can invite a speaker to give a short talk about Darfur or watch a relevant video.
But most of all, take some time out of your day to print out some flyers and spread them around to your friends, family, classmates, etc.

Karama House Organization
Karama House is a transition home for young Kenyan women who have graduated from the Shelter Children Rehabilitation Centre (SCRC). SCRC was an orphanage for children who were exposed to traumatic forms of violence, sexually abused, orphaned, neglected, or abandoned because of the death of their parents. The environment at SCRC provided them a loving home and ran a scholarship program to send the children to high school.By expanding the options these young women have, Karama House is doing a service to help stop the cycle of poverty that has riddled the lives of many individuals. We are establishing Karama House as a transitional living environment exclusively for those young women graduating out of the care program provided by SCRC. The Karama House program will provide SCRC graduates with scholarships for college education and provide support funding for their living needs in a 1-2 year transition home in Nairobi. While living in the house they will take personal finance classes and create a sustainable small business for future income.

Raise money and hold Karama House fundraising events
Stay informed and inform your friends and family about Karama House
Learn as much as you can about Kenya and Kenyan people
Talk to the press & give them the KH story by writing to editors and pitching stories to them
Get your book club, church group, YWO/YMO, soccer team, etc. involved in the Karama House project
Consider visiting Karama House on a short-term visit
