As a music producer, rapper, basketball and football player, J. Rush has strived for success in every field he has embarked on. Through each impediment stumbled on, he has either pierced his way through or created an alternate path, not obstacles to cripple his dreams. As a young man holding steadfast to his goals, Rush enjoyed the privileges of writing lyrics and plenty sport experiences, which he continues until today driven by the same passion-the love of music and football.
J. Rush was born in Miami to teenage parents both All-American athletes at Miami American Senior High School. From a very early age it was known by family and friends that this child was destined to do great things. At the age of four, he impressively taught himself how to read, and by nine, he began writing his first raps. His earliest raps featured himself and the various people he grew up with in the Carol City neighborhood. Later in life it would become his trademark as he persued music more seriously. Even as a child, he had a knack for writing music as a vividly painted picture of his environment. He wrote with the intention that people would relate to the similar lifestyle in which he was exposed to in the city. On several occasions, Rush encountered legal problems, which eventually brought clarity to the reality of life on the streets. Determined to turn his life around and share his new-found knowledge and experience with young brothers, he began transferring his life struggles into music to attract others in parallel situations.
Blessed with athletic talents growing up, J. Rush had always dreamt of one day playing in the NFL. However, his dream seemed impossible after being kicked out of high school. Shorty after that he also learned that he would become a father. Determined not to become another statistic, he devised a plan to get his life back on track in order to provide for his family. With local artist Trick Daddy and Trina making national noise J. Rush decided to intensely focus on his music. With childhood friends he formed the group D.O.P., a name they called themselves in high school based on their epithet " Double O Pimps". Desiring absolute control of their own careers, he launched HollyHood Entertainment. J. Rush would soon start striving towards another one of his dreams.... playing football. However, having not played football his last two years of high school, plus a GED no one wanted to risk giving him a chance at their college. Determined not to give up he tried out for semi pro team Florida Titans. He immediately made an impact and in 2004 was named the SSFL Rookie of the Year.....
Filled with utter motivation and fiery determination to reach his goals, J. Rush is working hard to achieve the great things that he was born to do. All his aspirations and lessons of life have brought him so far, yet his undying hunger persists, and his thirst for success eagerly waits to be quenched. As he strives hungrily, let's see what happens in 2009
