Karl has had many influences to his music. People like Pink Floyd, Led Zeplin and Neil Young who he listened to growing up. There are others, such as the Goo Goo Dolls, Matchbox 20, Queen, Alanis Morissette, The Counting Crows, the Foo Fighters, and Train to name a few. But it was when he heard Sebastian Bach of Skid Row singing "18 and Life" that he knew that singing was what he wanted to do.
Karl has a plan for himself. A plan to make music. He has passion and determination. He believes in hard work and determination and knows he has to never give up to achieve his plan. He has the talent and the love of music and through his friends on MySpace, he has a way to get his music heard. He has found so many people that share his dream. He has found so many loyal and supportive friends on MySpace and he knows they will help him succeed.
Rolz Guilford - Keys, Guitars, Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals
"Music has always been the driving force in my life. For me, it represents something far greater than the mere sounds it consists of. Music has the power to inspire. It defines people’s identities, dictates moods and atmospheres, reduces people to tears and inspires people to dance, party and have fun.
I have several significant early memories of discovering my love for music. Some sound ridiculous now as an adult but I’ll never forget them.
I remember first hearing the theme tune to chariots of fire. It was this piece of music that inspired me as a young child to run to the piano and hit the keys until I created a tune! I discovered a love for jazz music when I heard King Louie from ‘The Jungle Book’ sing ‘I’m The King of The Swingers!’ ‘The Pink Panther’ theme was another profound moment for me….I was very young at the time!!
As I grew a little older I discovered Rock music by sifting through my dad’s Queen Records! Wow!! From this moment on my life was changed! I HAD to get an electric guitar and since then my influences grew and grew…..Stevie Wonder to Daughtry to name but a few!
I love all genres of great music and being part of the Karl Vasey band continues to inspire me as a musician!!"
Jonny Whyatt - Guitars, Backing Vocals
"When I first saw Marty Mcfly in Back To The Future play Jonny B Goode, I knew I had to be a guitar player. I love all music. eg: Buddy Guy to Jimi Hendrix, James Brown to The Goo Goo Dolls.
I first got into music when i was six years old. My mum gave me her record collection. This consisted of all the Beatles records, which I adored! Then there were a load of 70's disco records that made me want to dance. But then my dad gave me Led Zeppelin and I knew I loved music
Music is what I am, I can't think of life without a guitar in my hands and music in my ears."
