Try and penetrate with our limited means the secrets of nature and you will find that, behind all the discernible concatenations, there remains something subtle, intangible and inexplicable. Veneration for this force beyond anything that we can comprehend is my religion. To that extent I am, in point of fact, religious.Be sure to check out:http://www.highestself.com/ For the clearest steps to self-transformation you have ever seen.www.paranormalpodcast.com and www.unknowncountry.com For topics sure to satisfy your natural curiosity.

BIOGRAPHY:
Kathryn Erickson has been influenced from her early years riding horses, hiking, body surfing and enjoying the water, getting an education, and in general enjoying a thousand and one golden hours in the warm sun. These activities guided her to an abiding love and respect for the land and sea. The spartan beauty of the back country was a powerful teacher of life lessons. It then seemed only natural to convey this "mystery of place" through art. With this fundamental appreciation of nature, Kathryn went on to study art in Southern and Northern California, and in Denmark. Her medium of choice is intaglio printmaking, with a strong interest in drawing, as demonstrated in silverpoint drawing technique.ETCHINGS OR INTAGLIO PRINTS:
What is an etching or intaglio print? To create a line etching, the artist coats the surface of a metal plate, usually zinc or copper, with an acid-resist ground of asphaltum. Then with an etching tool, the artist draws the image onto the ground, exposing the metal below. The plate is then placed in a nitric acid bath titrated to a certain strength, which chemically cuts lines into the plate. After the plate is "bitten" to the correct depth, it is cleaned, inked, printed on acid-free paper, and run through a printing press, which is turned by hand, unchanged since the days of Rembrandt. Editions are pulled, and each print is numbered and signed. Prints can be printed in the graphic and traditional black or in color. Some of the color work shown here is all wiped onto a single plate. Subtle variations occur from print to print, making these truly unique works; however, they are all considered within the same edition. Four-plate color prints are also shown in albums/etchings. They are done using four separate color plates and printed one after the other in sequence so the ink blends at the time of printing. Any questions, e-mail me at: [email protected]:
The etchings combine real life experience and modern mythologies about small historical villages, their buildings and their people, with architectural drawings, classically inspired figurative images, and warm fresco-like color inspired by the land. The effect of these combined elements imparts a haunting world view with a strict and timely presence. These etchings serve to motivate and inspire the creative spirit in everyone.INFLUENCES: The etchings of Rembrandt, Goya, Cassatt; classical Greek and Roman art; Post-Impressionism; earth forms and ruins.GAMING: WOW, EQII, and other MMORPG gaming.COLLECTIONS: Grossmont College;
