About Me

I'm a senior at the UofA. I'll be there for a fifth year, partly as a result of changing majors but also because of the fact that I've ended up having two of them-- English and psychology. I thought I wanted to go to grad school in one of them, but I now believe that those ideas were not my own (or were at least misguided). I would like to write for a living, and I've known that for a long time. I think I'm ready to devote myself to that, even though it means I will have to exist outside of the comforting walls of academia.
Apparently I come off as a very "laid back" person. I usually like hanging out with a small number of people, discussing exotic topics, and eating exotic foods. I'm not a partier. I drink sometimes, when I'm in a setting where I won't get puked or pissed on or forced to listen to jam bands. I usually don't get along with people who get drunk every night and/or people whose sober conversations have to do with alcohol more than half of the time.
My grades are important to me, so I'm often in nerd-mode through the week. When I'm not neglecting friends and pets with my head stuck in a book, I try to keep myself somewhat well rounded. I read and watch movies (interesting, i know), work out and play basketball from time to time, and do music-related things. I'm picky about the music I listen to, but am obsessed with the bands I deem super. I play drums, bass, and some guitar. My buddy Alan and I jam around once a week and play shows occassionally here in t-town (have played a couple in birmingham). Our sound is changing, and we'll be playing together as Dividing Numbers from now on... I'm slowly working on some stuff on my own also, which will hopefully be recorded in some form soon.
That's me in a few words. I've got more words, available upon request.

I'm feeling a return to writing of some kind. I've been crying out for it while at the same time cowering away from it. It's been a long hiatus, filled with such despair that I'm fearful of creating a...
