¿Qué es Claridad?
CLARIDAD es un semanario de circulación nacional en Puerto Rico, que tiene como objetivo central ser un instrumento eficaz en la lucha por la independencia de Puerto Rico. Se fundó en junio de 1959.
Puerto Rico es hoy la principal colonia en el mundo, bajo dominio de Estados Unidos desde 1898, luego de que España cediera nuestra nación, cual botÃn de guerra, como resultado de la guerra Hispano–cubano–estadounidense.Puerto Rico es una nación latinoamericana, integrada por cuatro millones de puertorriqueños residentes en territorio nacional y otros cuatro millones que habitan en Estados Unidos. Es un pueblo con su propia identidad y nacionalidad,
También ha sido objetivo editorial prioritario de CLARIDAD vincular las aspiraciones y luchas de nuestro pueblo a las de nuestros hermanos en América Latina, región de la que Puerto Rico forma parte histórica y sociológicamente.Visión

What is Claridad?
CLARIDAD is a weekly newspaper with a national circulation in Puerto Rico, whose central objective is to be an effective instrument in the fight for the independence of Puerto Rico. It was founded in June 1959. Puerto Rico is today the main colony in the world, under U.S. control since 1898, after Spain ceded our nation as war booty as a consequence of the "Spanish-American War."Puerto Rico is a Latin-American nation, comprised of four million Puerto Ricans in the national territory, and another four million that reside in the United States. It is a people with its own identity and nationality, formed over a hundred years ago, and strengthened by a common language, Spanish, and by its own customs and characteristics. In that context, CLARIDAD, throughout more than 45 years of existence, has tried through a responsible and combative protest journalism to be pivotal in the process of consolidation of the Puerto Rican national conscience by providing critical analysis, information that sheds light on the national reality, and direction and coordination for its struggle.Also it has been an editorial priority of CLARIDAD to link the aspirations and struggle of our nation to those of our brothers and sisters in Latin America, a region of which Puerto Rico forms part of historically and sociologically.Vision
To be an effective instrument of the struggle for the independence of Puerto Rico; pivotal in the process of consolidation of the national conscience; to provide critical analysis and information on the national and international reality; and leadership and coordination for its struggle.Mission
To provide for the Puerto Rican nation the most pertinent information and analysis needed to conduct the process of acheiving national sovereignty.
