Born 1987 in Berlin - Germany, Helene starts her music education with the age of seven. She studies classical piano for seven years and starts to play drums in the age of 14. Although, she discovers the world of Brazilian Music at that time. She plays percussion and drums in several local bands. With the age of 16 Helene goes to Brazil to study percussion. She moves to Salvador da Bahia and plays with great Percussionists like Ney Sacramento (perc. of Steve Coleman), Dudu Keita and Itamar Lima. She performs with Brazilian bands and travels through the Southeast and the Northeast of Brazil. In Pernambuco she discovers the traditional Brazilian music for herself and gets the honor to play with Mestre Salustiano and Arlindo dos 8 Baixos. Back to Berlin in 2005 she finishes her high school and continues performing with Brazilian Band projects a.o. with Duddu Tucci and Valdir Jovenal (ex-perc. of Nana Vasconcelos). She performs in and outside Germany with Sapucaiu no Samba and creates her own music projects beside.
