I am a free-bass accordion player who has been playing classical music from the age of eight and different kind of traditional music as long as I can remember.
I took my Bachelor in Music degree in June 2002 from the Royal College of Music in Stockholm in Sweden. I was the first free-bass accordion student in the history of their traditional music department. In June 2004 I took my Master in Music degree from Sibelius Academy in Helsinki in Finland.
At the moment I live in Stockholm and I work mainly as a freelancer folk music teacher and musician. I am a co-founder of traditional music faculty at the Estonian Music and Theater Academy and I work there as a teacher and coordinator. I have also worked as a leader of the international youth folk music camp Eesti Etno which takes place every summer in Estonia.
I love to improvise and compose tunes and my passion is to play old fiddle tunes from Orsa in Dalecarlia in Sweden but I also play traditional music from Finland and occasionally some Estonian tunes too.
I play custom built BUGARI and FANTINI accordions. Special thanks for FANTINI factory who took the trouble to build a special free-bass instrument for me!!
