I've been drawing, doodling and painting since I was very young. I studied art in High School, but gave up those kind of artistic pursuits when I decided it would be more fun to travel.
I figured financing my travels would be easier being a chef, so that's what I did for about 20 years. I moved back to the U.S. after living in Costa Rica for a few years and became a mom while I was there. I've been fortunate enough to be a stay at home mom for a while, and on the suggestion of and old friend I started painting floor cloths....and that's turned into this new adventure...... Bushka Designs.
I've been doing it for about nine years now and it's great being able to express myself and making a living (sort of) doing what I love.
Painting and cooking are my passions. Both allow me to express myself. I enjoy creating things for people that have a special meaning so I try to know my clients; what they like, what speaks to them.
Some know exactly what they want and others only know the colors they want to work with. Either way, you'll end up with a one of a kind piece that reflects your own personal style.
I've done everything from animal portraits to Van Gogh impressions on furniture to floor cloths that coordinate with wallpaper, etc. I'm willing to try anything!!
My work is displayed in the U.S. as well as Canada, Central America, Europe and in the U.K.
