About Me

Is this a band?

David Graham: Half Mexican/Half Scotch-Irish; ridiculously happily partnered with Andra, love of his life, exudes music, egged on by three beautiful children and wonderful friends. He has a decent career in IT. He hunches in his cave, surrounded by Fender, Gibson & Taylor guitars, a cheap Akai DPS16, a few decent microphones and a cool old Mesa Boogie amp. He spends fleeting moments there recording songs and ideas and fragments of songs. He has been doing this for a long, long time.

It will never end.

querying the future

I just found out something beautiful. I YouTubed "Barack" and -I gotta tell ya!- there are some talented people out there making complex art in Mr. Obama's honor, from all ove...

Wrote a new song

Damn, it's been a long time since I wrote anything new but there's a new one up there called Calmly to the Exit. I've been engrossed with these damned Stephen King "Dark Tower" books, but I'm almost ...

stupidity leads to pain and misery

So, last Thursday I came home from work and went into my garage and started writing a song for my friend. It was pretty hot in there so I wandered outside for a breath of fresh air. My wife and her fr...

a momentous day

Some neat stuff happened today. I got a headache and left work early but then my new recording system arrived in the mail and I got to open it up and, despite my agony, play with it. It's an Akai...

Good fortune

On a warm summer day back in 1989, Eric McFadden and I were playing pool on Dr. John's slate in Joey's flat at 508-1/2 Central in downtown Albuquerque. As usual, I missed a simple shot and&n...

I am in Madison

As my friend George was taking me to the airport, he said something very wise. He said, "When I travel, I realize I'm practically powerless over circumstances so I just let them happen and don't try t...

An adventure!

I'm traveling to Madison Wisconsin tomorrow to record bass parts on a CD for Adam Mackintosh. I guess if I wanted to I could tour with the band and change my vocation from Computer Nerd to Profes...

Adam calls me again

I went to Portland for Thanksgiving. It was weird. My girls were distracted with their lives too much to spend too much time with the old man. I guess I expected it to happen sometime but it was still...

The End of Summer

So, here it is. The end of summer. Hudson starts school tomorrow. We're back on the "No TV" schedule. It'll take the boy a few days to get used to it since he's been innundated in animated superhero m...
