Before he started performing hip hop, Paul Jarod emerged in poetry slams. His spoken word style shines through; for each of his verses are just as impactful without a beat. Think Saul Williams telling stories like Arrested Development or Brother Ali. J Rockness is Seattle's own prodigal son has a flavor like Cage or Yak Balls. It is his distinctive ability to make one think about the world around them by means of his clever punch lines and rhythmic cadences .
Influences: blackstar, gangstar, dead prez, goodie mob, outkast, atmosphere, rza, gza... well really Wu Tang as a whole, wyclef, cypress hill (old stuff), jayz, dr. dre, tool, nirvana, pearl jam, beck, Pete Rock, kool keith, cage, Aesop, pharcyde, the roots, canibus, soundbombing and lyricist lounge, pharoah monch, royce da 5'9", the outsidaz, biggie and tupac of coarse, so many artist... we are music lovers.... so we'll just say we've been influenced by life...
