"I Ain't Doin Nothin" by Tandy
Gurrilla Grind
November 27,1988 was a beautiful day. On that day a star was born into the world. Being born and raised in Hopkinsville (Hoptown), Kentucky, J-Melody began music at the tender age of 3, hoping to follow his dad's footsteps. He was from all over Hopkinsville so he says he really can't claim any side in particular so he reps the whole town. After watching his dad perform numerous of concerts J-Melody knew exactly what he wanted to do in his life. By the age of 5 he began to form his own groups with his lil brother and cousins. They would recycle songs from Michael Jackson, New Edition, Kris Kross, ABC, etc and would record it on play tapes. At the age of 10 his parents moved him to Bowling Green, Kentucky to keep him out of the dangerous streets of Hopkinsville. Though he's been gone half of his life, he still reps it like no one else can. At the age of 12 J-Melody began taking interest in rapping. While looking up to his older cousin B-Real he began to record on a couple songs. From ages 12 through 17 he promised his parents that he wouldn't cuss on any of his rhymes. At the age of 12 is also when J-Melody started to produce music, not knowing that it would take over his whole life. His skills really began to show around the age of 16, after taking notes of what his mentor Mama's Boy had been doing in some of his own music. At the age of 16 he sold his first beat to Hopkinsville native Tandy. He actually sold a couple beats to Tandy (Tan-D) and has worked with Cash Money Artist "Allstar Cashville's Prince." At the age of 18 he and Mamma's Boy formed a production company, KYNG OF THE BEATZ. Now at 20 J-Melody and Mammas Boy are currently putting out singles by Tan-D and also working on Tan-D's upcoming album, which is going to be considered a hood classic with singles such as "Keep It 100" "We Hustle, We Grind" produced by Mamma's Boy and others such as "Fuck Tha Otha Side" "Gurrilla Grind" and "Stay On My Shit" produce by J-Melody. J-Melody's sound consist Bass, 808s, Horns, Strings, and Guitars, or anything that makes a hit. J-Melody says he is a mixture of Polow Da Don, Timbaland, Mannie Fresh, and DJ Toomp. Now ready to make hits J-Melody says that he's about to help put his hometown on the map along with Tan-D and HELL AND BACK, Mamma's Boy, Street Sweepers, and other artist from the Hopkinsville area. He says he's looking forward to working with some other artist from Hoptown. If you're looking for a great beat you should hook up with J-Melody. He says he would love to work with Lil Wayne, The Game, Ludacris, Jay-Z, Plies, T.I, Timbaland, Polow Da Don and other big named artists.
