The OddZ of Even
.. The OddZ of Even announce new album in the works
Los Angeles, CA – The OddZ of Even are beginning the next phase of their career with “End of an Age.†The title captures the ominous mood of this gorgeous but lethal album.
The hefty, heavy sound attacks as hard, melodic metal augmented by a vast store of influences. Take, for example, “The Unforeseen Suffering.†The song’s heavy body is wrapped around a progressive rock skeleton. Boosting the meat of “The Unforeseen Suffering†is a certain symphonic muscle. In addition, hints of industrial flavors add iron to the blood of this beast.
The new album involves, explains one member of The OddZ of Even, “incorporating melodies and harmonies into a heavier sound but not losing the melodic touch and not sacrificing melody for the sake of being heavy. This has helped to evolve the sound into a somewhat unique mix of abrasive metal with good melody but still heavy as hell.â€
The OddZ of Even were birthed into the musical realm in 1998 with Wes Renaud’s solo project concept. But that soon grew with the addition of bassist James Tomany in early 1999. Since that time, the membership has rotated through a number of drummers and guitarists, none of whom truly fit the mold of what The OddZ of Even is all about. Nonetheless, the creature has grown into an entity of its own and its latest spawning, “End of an Age,†is soon to be released into the world. The current incarnation of The OddZ of Even consists of original member Wes Renaud (Songwriter/Vocals/Guitars), as well as Sean Byrne (guitars), Mark Pelkey (drums), and newest member Marcus Gish (Bass).
Besides work on the new album, The OddZ of Even will be heading into 2010 with a vengeance, booking as many shows as they can play, wherever they can. The band is currently working with A&R Select, the premier A&R firm based out of Los Angeles, CA.
