About Me
Romain Chicha (26), aka "The Eel", was a cigarettes salesman on the run.
Nicolas Viegeolat (also 26), aka "Jesus", repaired old Peugeot 504 cars in a breakage in Marseilles' Estaque.
Their destinies were to cross suddenly on the night of July 14th, 2003.
Prowling about the Belsunce district, up to no good, they stumbled upon a group of Japanese tourists filming a fireworks show.
Without warning, they both jump for the camera. They seize it and a tug of war ensues. They pull on the camera in front of the frightened Japanese tourists, but neither of them wants to let go.
The camera splits in two. Romain and Nicolas flee the scene, running in opposite directions.
At the beginning of August, it’s Gilles Cabau, aka "The White Rasta", who reunites them. Thanks to the assistance of Jean-Luc Legoupil, aka "The Nerd", they patch up the camera and try to flog their loot at Marseilles' enormous Arnavaux flea market.
In September, with the camera remaining unsold, Romain and Nicolas decide to make use of it.
