About Me

I was born and raised in Revere and later Danvers Massachusetts. It seemed that while growing-up my goals in life changed from month to month (like MOST kids, I guess). I recall that, when I was very young, my future-vision of myself seemed to be a cross between Stan Laurel and Walt Disney (figure THAT one out). At age nine I wanted to be Ricky Nelson, so I took 4 guitar lessons, got bored, and moved on to cartooning. At ten I studied piano for three months, but my teacher had twins and had to give up teaching (that was the END of my formal piano training). I wrote and recorded my first song "Cowboy" (with my Dad at the piano) at the tender age of eleven and I've been writing tunes ever since. A few years later THE BEATLES hit the airwaves, so I promptly took drum lessons to be like Ringo. I was the drummer in my very first band, and still dabble a bit, but at seventeen I came to the realization that it's difficult to write songs on drums, so I returned to the one instrument I COULD write tunes on, the piano. I STILL can't read a note, so, I guess I can say, I simply play well enough to get my songs down and that's about IT. I'm proud to have been a part of some VERY good original bands in the 60's, 70's and early 80's. We never made a dime but the music and the times were fine. I stopped performing altogether in 1984. and then worked in the "real world" as a phone man until my recent retirement. Now I'm back playing music and having a blast once again.( visit myspace.combandnightowls for more info and tunes) I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace)
