BIO
BAD CIRKUZ was founded in 2007. A team of talented songwriters and musicians was formed. They discovered a woman in a godforsaken bar. And after some months of rehearsing in a smokey basement they went out to go and play in front of an audience. The first concert in november 2007 was a success and it was the start of an amazing trip. They won the Lo Rock Rally in april, they went touring through France, Spain and Portugal in july, they where the winner of the Marktrock Stella Artois Music Busker Contest 2008 and had their live debut on Studio Brussels. All this before the end of the summer. They won the Axion Banner Contest 2008 in december, they played at the Ancienne Belgique in Brussels in february 2009. They proved themselves fit to a broad audience in the series of concerts that followed. Meanwhile they managed recording a 5 song CD in less than a month. Now they are playing their music and showing their enthusiasm on a lot of summer festivals all over Belgium.
Through their lyrics and music it's easy to hear their philosophy: the Bad Cirkuz stands for the grown up world and all its walls, rules and plans. While trying to fit in this bad circus you might forget something essential: the child inside of you. Laugh, cry, open up and amuse yourself. There's no need to be hiding behind the serious moustache.

(30 juni 2009 - Nieuws.be) De Leuvense groep verraste vorig jaar menig muziekliefhebber. Als winnaar van de busker wedstrijd brachten ze in de backstage van Marktrock een ontzettend mooie akoestische set. Op het burchtfestival lieten ze zien hoe sterk de groep geëvolueerd is. Het optreden was er eentje om duimen en vingers van af te likken.
(10 augustus 2008 - Knack) Een zangeres met een pittige grom en een groep die er stáát, zelfs als de gitarist, bassist en toetsenist hun instrument vanop een barkruk bespelen
(10 augustus 2008 - Stubru) Nieuw dit jaar was de Marktrock Stella Music Buskers, de eerste competitie voor straatmuzikanten in ons land. Overduidelijke winnaar was Bad Cirkuz dat maar liefst 3.330 Marktrock-muntjes verzamelde. De helft van de band kwam langs in De Nachtuil voor een interview én live-sessie.
(19 januari 2009 - Dexia) Bad Cirkuz won de wedstrijd Axion Banner Concerts en kreeg een live optreden op het podium van de Ancienne Belgique.
(13 februari 2009 - Het nieuwsblad) De Leuvense band Bad Cirkuz, de sensatie van Marktrock 2008, is druk bezig aan een eerste plaat. Die zal eind deze maand af zijn. Ondertussen hebben ze tijd gevonden om de Ancienne Belgique plat te spelen.
