Evita Sfakianaki is a Greek classically trained Concert Pianist and Musicologist.
She studied Musicology at the University of Athens in Greece and also Music Theory with the teachers Alkis Papadopoulos, Periklis Koukos, Michael Travlos with whom she got her diplomas in Advanced Harmony, Counterpoint and Fugue. At a very early stage of her studies she had the opportunity to collaborate with the worlwide famous composer Mikis Theodorakis on his 'Suite No.1 for orchestra and piano'.In 2003 she graduated from the 'Kodaly Concervatory and Institute' where she got her Piano Diploma in Performance with the 'First Prize' and a 'Special Award' and in June of the same year she had the honour to give a piano recital of Z.Kodalys' piano pieces at the visit of the First Lady of Hungary D.Madl and Kodaly's wife, Mrs Sarolta Kodaly, in Greece. Then she decided to continue her studies at 'Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, Alfred Cortot' with the piano teacher Natalia Michaelidou where in the final round of Ecole Normale's Competition in 2005 she got the 4th place. In the summer of 2006 she got her Masters in Music in Performance (MMus) from the National Concervatory of Greece with 'Distinction' under the authority of the same teacher.In September of that same year she went to London to continue her studies at the 'Royal Academy of Music' where she completed her Postgraduate Diploma in Performance with the piano teacher P.Nemirovski and also the LRAM (Teaching Diploma) at the same school. In November of 2007 she performed with a Sextet the piece 'Music for Six' by the young composer James Williamson, at the 'Royal Festival Hall'.She had masterclasses with many famous pianists such as Konstantin Lifschitz, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, Daniel Hoexter, Peter Nagy, Yonty Solomon, Ian Fountain, G.E.Lazaridis, Oxana Yablonskaya, Marios Papadopoulos, Filippo Gamba and also attended many Piano Festivals in Greece and in Europe.
She is also a piano teacher for the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.
