BIOGRAPHY.Shayne Ward, born on October 16th 1984, is an Anglo-Irish singer from Clayton, Manchester. He auditioned for The X Factor series 2, in 2005, in Manchester, which was the unknown start of a fantastic future for our Shayne! He flew through every round, to the live finals, where he competed against 11 other performers, competing for that £1m record deal. Shayne made it right through to the finals, surviving each week, and not being in the bottom two. He faced the final with Andy Abraham and double-act Journey South. Our Shayne went on to win The X Factor, and is now an international superstar, who has had millions of records sold worldwide.Before The X Factor, Shayne performed with a band called 'Destiny' with two female friends; Tracy Murphy and Tracey Lyle. They were popular for performing at weddings, clubs, and other receptions around Manchester and some of the UK. Shayne's day job was selling shoes in the "smelly shoe" department of New Look, Manchester Arndale.Shayne has 6 siblings, including one twin sister, Emma. When Shayne was born, doctors were unsure whether he would survive, due to him being 2 months premature. His lungs weren't developed properly and he had breathing problems. Thankfully, our Shayne, being the strong, powerful man he is, pulled through all his problems, and certainly has no problems breathing now! Shayne enjoys to play football - both realistically, and virtually on his PS2 - and is a huge Manchester United fan. He grew up with Irish music, which made music a true passion for Shayne. He says he never realised his talent to be exactly what it is - good thing we did! ;)
