It's founder Ira Ward got his start in the music industry in 1980 with the legendary Gap Band a Soul funk band from the seventies that has sold over 10 million records and albums. Shortly after creating tracks for Rudy Taylor the dominant songwriter for The Gap Band Ira realized his skill as a producer and started to produce artist such as Barrington Scott Henderson the lead singer of legendary Temptations and Lakeside.
Deeply rooted in Blues, Soul, Gospel and Jazz he decided to move to Europe and set up shop in Stockholm, Sweden where he worked on many projects that has sold over 10 million records worldwide.
Later he teamed up with Tim Weedon the founder of The Modern Soul Academy (Fryshuset) and Damon Frost to build up the music production school in Fryshuset located in Stockholm, Sweden. Fryshuset is Sweden's largest Fine Arts School. Students got the chance to learn first hand what it takes to become a Soul, R&B and Hip-hop artist.
After working in the new Palms studio in Las Vegas Ira returned to the south of Sweden for a vacation and fell in love with it and decided to start a new Soul academy!
The new School of Soul will be like no other say's Ira.
"We will be adding a new Gospel Choir to the school where students will learn to sing traditional and modern gospel".
