About Me

He's out there - I put my life on it. I'm not better than anyone. There's nothing good in me that comes from me. Somtimes I cuss [lets be honest here]. Sometimes I'm a jerk [i'm working on it]. I'm not perfect. I fall on my face [and my knees] often because i can't carry the load. I thank God. I'm just a man. Ummmmmmm, sometimes I write. Occasionally it goes well. Here's some pretty pretty pictures for your pretty pretty eyes:The official trailer for john language's first movie, the stop-motion animation EPIC movie "CRAPOCALYPSE NOW." You betta recognize!"In any case, philosophy has never depended on a revelation from God. It has always assumed the potential adequacy of humans to understand their world and decide their fate. The knowledge by which decisions are to be determined will be derived from individual or communal experience. The formulation of knowledge into a coherent system should be governed by the rules of logic that man has devised. Through the increasing scope of his observation and through the advancing perfection of his logic man should be able at last to attain full comprehension of the mysteries of which he is a part. To achieve this end various systems of philosophy were created." - Merrill C. Tenney"For I dare say that you, Socrates, feel as I do, how very hard or almost impossible is the attainment of any certainty about questions such as these [immortality] in the present life. And yet I should deem him a coward who did not prove what is said about them to the uttermost, or whose heart failed before he had examined them on every side. For he should persevere until he has attained one of two things: either he should discover or learn the truth about them, or, if this is impossible, I would have him take the best and most irrefragable of human notions, and let this be the raft upon which he sails through life - not without risk, as I admit, if he cannot find some word of God which will more surely and safely carry him." -PlatoRomans 16:25"Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery which has been kept secret for long ages past, 26but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith; 27to the only wise God, through Jesus Christ, be the glory forever. Amen. " -Paul, a firsthand witnessJohn 1:14"And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, glory as of the only begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth. " - John, a firsthand witnessthe influence of frequency on salt. you should definitely watch this.

My Interests

growing older and wiser.

I'd like to meet:

my destiny

Music:

Mewithoutyou, the psalters, Buena Vista Social Club, Muse, Gypsy Kings, american culture experiments/american history project, Beloved, radiohead, Waterdeep, Blindside, lots of stuff -- whatever

Movies:

do they even really make good movies anymore? let's see: I liked Bats (starring Lou Diamond Phillips) , uhh, definitely anything Ben Affleck, Miss Congeniality 2, Charlie's Angels 1+2 (nothing says good movie like a 90 minute music montage), and i think i'll just predict that I'll REALLY dig the Hawaii Five-O or C.H.I.P.S. movies when the studios finally get around to running out of the few remaining ideas they have left.but seriously, I dig a well done war movie. Crash, One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, Edward Scissorhands, The Neverending Story, Labrynth, The Explorers, Stand By Me, A Christmas Story, The Shawshank Redemption, Nightmare Before Christmas, Willow, army of darkness, Shaun of the Dead, Apocalypto, 3:10 to Yuma, The Invasion, etc etc etc etc...

Television:

moving picture box

Books:

The Great Divorce, A Grief Observed, God in the Dock (C.S. Lewis). The Latent Power of the Soul, Normal Christian Life (watchman nee). Augustine's City of God. church history, roman history,Oh yeah, and defintely the Bible. I started reading that thing as a joke and underlined all this stuff that i thought was crap and wrote in the margins all this mocking stuff- then like a year later after i read it cover to cover, I had to throw away that Bible cuz i was so convicted about the stuff i had done to it. I HIGHLY recommend reading Deuteronomy, Jeremiah, Isaiah, the Gospels, and Romans. Even from an educational/intellectual standpoint, those books (and the rest of the Bible) are absolutely fascinating.

Heroes:

God, for making such a WILD story in His foolishness that was still wiser than the wisdom of man.

Love is a funny thing.  It's like one of those things that you pray about for years and years and then suddenly it sneaks up on you, like a pistol in your back on a cold, moon-less night:  "...
