About Me

Melo, born Melvin Williams in Augusta , GA did not realize the depth of his dream when he spent his childhood days fiddling with an old, out of tune piano at his grandfather’s house. At the age of six, his uncle ignited his interest in the piano. From that point, Melo played around with that old, out of tune piano, the church organ and piano, and eventually a little keyboard that his parents purchased. At the age of eight, Melo decided that he wanted the same profession as Quincy Jones. Once he began producing fourteen years later, he reflected back to that extraordinary wish. Melo, being too young to join the band would sneak and play his older sister’s bass clarinet, which led to him playing the alto, and eventually soprano, saxophones. When Melo’s uncle gave him a few jazz records in 1991, he fell in love with the freedom of soul and jazz. Melo played in the high school band for one year before deciding that his yearning to play what he felt was more essential than being restricted to reading music. Against his parents’ counsel, he quit the band and began playing in church, weddings and anywhere else he could express himself through music. By the time Melo was 16, he was playing (sax) alongside skilled jazz musicians at local events and gigs. That year, playing the keyboard became a serious reality when Melo’s father became a pastor. Melo’s gift permitted him to play behind any singer who sang in church, whether he was familiar with the song or not. He seemed to be able to pull the best out of every singer in the choir. The freedom of gospel music allowed Melo to play with feeling and develop and implement a style of his own. This was the official birthing of Melo as a producer. Soon after, Melo attended Georgia Southern University and majored in music performance and education, however left to join the Navy at age 20. In 2002, a rapper friend purchased computer software for Melo to record his vocals. Melo connected his keyboards and within a few days Melo was producing. Melo was fixated on making tracks and he still has the same passion today. Deeply influenced by the life and words of his uncle (a great musician), he remembers his last words of encouragement to him- “Persevere through the struggles of following a dream and never give up.” Melo currently resides in Georgia , where he works with various artists nationwide, while still being committed to playing in church. It is evident that Melo appreciates and is fulfilling his destiny. He is one distinctive individual who does not take his gifts for granted. Melo is a God-fearing man of few words, but great wisdom and anointing. To know Melo is to know the essence of a genuine producer.-Victoria Celeste[LOVEMYFLASH]

They tell me that in order to make it in this game, I need to act a little more arrogant.  They say that if I allow myself to be seen on the same level as everyone else, they'll never respect wha...
