About Me

I grew up in a small town in Montana. I eventually moved to North Dakota to go to college, and then to Minnesota to finish up that thing called a Bachelor of Music degree. I did a short stint in Minneapolis interning at the ever wonderful 50 Records. It was a fantastic experience... but I'm SO happy to announce that I've finally made the big move to the beautiful state of Tennessee. Let's do this.
I've been singing for most of my 22 years, playing piano almost as long, and writing songs nearly as long as that. I immersed myself in country music at a young age (Reba McEntire's For My Broken Heart was the first album I knew every word to, though as you'd guess, the meaning of "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georga" went right over my five year old head). Only relatively recently have I ventured beyond my country music roots, starting safely with Bluegrass, and then moving out to the singer/songwriter acoustic goddesses of the world, and finally, some good quality indie rock (and all combinations thereof). My songs aren't meant to sound any one way, but just because of my background, most of them will easily fit into that glorious country sound.
I've had the privilege of working with some incredible people-- including good friends and even somebody I've been a fan of since I was in middle school-- Kevin Steinman. I've slowly but surely been meeting some incredible people, working on the songs, just imagining what my stuff will sound like with a band... The magic is happening. Stick around and see what comes of it, will you?.
Thanks to all of you who stopped by, read this, said hello, but mostly...
Thank you for listening.
love.

northern fall

I'm not generally a big fan of fall, and there is one main reason for that-- to me, it only means winter is on it's way.  Winter is my least favorite season of the year, because I have never live...
