We are Chris & Barb, and yes, we are fish geeks! We're here to share our experiences with others in the aquarium hobby and learn from theirs.
We currently have three tanks in our living room. One is a 75g Tridacnid clam tank, one is a 29g tank exclusively for our saddle-backs clowns (A. Polymnus) and their carpet anemone host (S. Haddoni) and of course the eggs they lay every 10 days, and the third is a 180g mixed reef tank. All of our tanks run off of a common sump in the basement.
We have a wide mix of corals and fish in the 180g. A mated pair of Flame Angelfish, 7 Lyretail Anthias, 1 Powder Blue Tang, 1 Sailfin Tang, 2 quarter sized Hippo Tanges, 1 Flame Hawkfish, 2 Roral Gramma's, and 3 Percula's that live in a toadstool leather we've had for 5 years. Along with SPS,LPS and a few soft corals. The 75g is pretty much just clams. We have mostly Maximas, some Croceas, Squamosa's and 3 Derasas.
In the basement we have an additional 4 tanks that are set up as rearing tanks for the baby saddle-backs, and 3 continuous cultures of rotifers. (Yes, it looks like Frankenstein’s laboratory!) As far as we know, we are the only successful breeders of this species of saddle-backs in the hobby! So kudos to us! If your interested in purchasing saddle-back or ocellaris clowns send us a message. We have a retail site comming soon so check back often for updates.
We always have rotifers for sale, and we frequently have saddle-back clowns for sale, so feel free to check out our blogs and/or bulletins for updates.
We are actively involved in the online informational sharing aquarium websites including, Reef Aquarium Forum (screen name chris&barb), ClamsDirect.com, Reefmonkey.com, Reeffrontiers.com and Reefsanctuary.com. So if you’re up for some great information sharing then join us in the forums.
