Syndicate is a promotions group of eight bartenders, promoters, and Chicago club heads who hold various positions at some of Chicago's hottest spots: Lumen, Climax, Stone Lotus, Buddha Lounge, Moda, Crobar, Zentra, Vain, and Debonair. In early October our group was formed to fill what we saw as an under-developed night in the city, Wednesday.
Our first party kicked off on November 14th at Debonair, 1575 N Milwaukee Ave in Wicker Park, where Syndicate holds its residency.

BEX or Sexy Bexy, as she is known to some, has been bartending for the last 9 years. She has been written about in Chicago’s Read Eye and on Metromix.com for her innovative cocktails; some of her more celebrated concoctions include the sex on bex, the aqua, cocoa butter, and the nasty. Her notoriety has helped launch her to true “startender†status in the city of Chicago:
• 2007 - was chosen to be flown to France by Grey Goose for the launch of their new Pear flavored vodka
• 2007 - was a celebrity judge for the hottest bartender in Chicago contest
• 2006 - was voted into the number 2 spot for Chicago’s hottest bartender on metromix.com

Despite Bex’s accomplishments she remains is supportive of her fellow employees and genuinely appreciative of all her customers. Bex’s creativity, bartending skill, and loyalty have paid off as every night Bex is behind the bar, she is sure to draw a crowd.
Bex’s resume is a long list that boasts almost every nightclub in Chicago and even branches out into Wisconsin! Clearly, Bex is a hard worker who has the right mix of bar knowledge, customer service, and sexiness to build a career out of bartending; she is truly worthy of being called a Chicago “startenderâ€.
MARISA has been in the entertainment business in Chicago for the past 9 years. Her high-energy and dance skill landed her a start in entertainment as traveling hip-hop dancer for Total Entertainment Chicago. Over the last three years, however her career has branched out into bartending, where she can now be found at some of Chicago's hottest spots: Grand Central, Rino Lounge, and DeLaCosa, Stone Lotus, and Moe's Cantina. Besides bartending, Marisa also boasts her own event planning business, www.myprivatebartender.com. She is the founder and owner of this new concept for bar staffing private events. My Private Bartender, and is an online service that enables a party host to view profiles for each bartender. This gives a user of the service the ability to make better-informed choices for their private events. Marisa’s high-energy, bartending skills, good looks, and business savvy, is sure to make her a top choice for any event!
Being born in Hong Kong hasn’t kept MANTIK away from the scene, he’s been doing it for over a decade! Raised in Chicago, Mantik’s taste in venues are as varied as Chicago’s eclectic nightlife. He has delivered his superior service from Jun Bar in Wicker Park to Le Colonial on Rush. At present, Mantik holds bartending “court†at one of the city’s newest hotspots in the meat packing district, Lumen. When not behind the bar, you can find him on the other side, enjoying a Makers rocks, anywhere playing good ol’ fashioned Chicago house.
ERIK has been in and around some of Chicago’s top nightspots for the last ten years. He started bartending seven years ago at Havana, a popular lounge, cigar bar, and Cuban themed restaurant. After a short stay, he moved his talents over to Blue Messa, a Tex-Mex styled theme restaurant featuring over 65 different kinds of tequila. From there, he went on to Bortz Entertainment Group for a three-year run, where he earned the respect of his fellow employees and took on the role of lead bartender at Biology Bar nightclub. At the same time, his salesmanship, speed, personal integrity, and dynamic personality allowed him to tend bar for packed private events at Push Bar, Circus, and Dragon Room nightclubs. Over the last four years, and to present, Erik holds a bartending position with Funky Buddha Lounge, where you can find him every Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, using his unique working-flair style of bartending to attract regular customers’ week-after-week.
DEREK wears many hats in the nightclub business. His wealth of experience ranges from bartending, DJ’ing, event coordination, and marketing promotion. He has worked with top brands in front-of-the-house positions and behind the scenes for Smarbar, Jet, Vision, Soundbar, Zentra, Green Dolphin and Bungalow. Always the marketer, Derek has spearheaded many private “loft†events throughout the Chicagoland area, working with well-known international DJ’s: DJ Falcon of Daft Crew and Dusttraxx. When not working in the scene, Derek can be seen on the scene at hotspots like, Rodan, Sonoteque, Violet Hour, Dark Room, OHM, Funky Buddha, Smartbar, or anywhere that’s putting down a phat beat!
ELLIOT’s “to cool for school†style has served him well, at the tender age of 24, he has already tended bar at some of the top spots in the city. You may have been lucky enough to catch him, with a gaggle of cute girls at his station, working various nights on Division Street, Bass Bar at the Hard Rock Hotel, or at Ohm in Wicker Park. Currently, Elliot holds nights over at the Funky Buddha Lounge and Singara Hooka Lounge. When not behind the bar, you might find him partying hard at one of Chicago’s house or electro spots, or maybe even lurking in a dark alley.
HEF is a professional bartender, and has been for the last eight years. He currently holds regular nights at Lumen and Underground, and prides himself on his high level of integrity and respect for fellow staff members and customers. His dynamic personality, good looks, and marketing abilities have allowed him to draw crowds of regulars for every night of fun. Steve has also worked as a model for Elite and Ford agencies, and has held bartending positions at top nightspots such as Mad Bar, Le Passage, Ohm, Narcisse, Crecendo, Climax, and Celebrity. When not at the bar, Steve passes the time by producing club music for commercial and entertainment applications. And acts a a resident vampire 7 nights a week throughout the city...
