Colm is originally from Dundalk, County Louth in Ireland. He now lives and works in Dublin. He has been working as a professional photographer and film-maker for many years, working in the areas of advertising, portrait, fashion, music and Art photography. Back in 1995 he moved to Toulon, France to Study language. While living in France Colm began training in a recording studio in Marseilles, he also trained as an apprentice with the renowned French classical guitar maker, Bruno Perrin in Toulon. Colm also spent some time working as a recording studio technician in Paris. After his stay in France, Colm moved to Montreal in Canada. This is where he began his photographic career- covering Montreal’s diverse music scene. He returned a couple of years later to Ireland and began studying and working in film. He has worked on numerous drama and documentary projects as well as writing and directing his own films. His first film entitled “Anywhere out of Town†which he wrote, produced and directed was selected for screening in the Galway Film Fleadh in 2002 and the Clone digital Film Festival in Hameenlinna in Finland in 2003. Colm spent the next five years training and working in commercial photography, working in the areas of fashion and advertising. Colm has worked on numerous high profile advertising campaigns for clients such as Guinness, Budweiser, Hibernia insurance and Bank of Ireland. Currently, As well as working as a freelance Photographer and film-maker Colm also teaches film and Photography in a number of institutions in Dublin. Colm is also chief music photographer for Connected magazine.
