"I Finally Understand"
26.APR.07
By Mary E. RobinsonIt has taken awhile, but I finally understand.
I am beginning to see my life has not gone according to plan.My life is not about people around me. It is about what I truly feel and believe deep within. When I take a positive view on everything I see and do, Life happens and it happens well.If I choose not to believe that the best can happen for me, then I have erred in my own philosophy.I finally understand. If I want a happy and successful return, I must be that person from within.I once heard a wise professor say, “You get from people what you give.†Life’s profits are based upon how you live.
Positive thought breed positive results. I refuse to allow negativity to become a neighbor in my soul and in my mind.I finally understand that positive thinking is exercising faith, and faith is simply being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we cannot see.I finally understand that if I truly believe, I am bound to achieve.I finally understand that God did not put me on Earth to be miserable, discouraged and alone. My success is based upon whether or not my life, my faith, and my actions are strong.I finally understand that my happiness cannot come from anyone else. It starts with me. I am the apprentice of my life and its outcome.I finally understand that life is about how I choose to live or not live. Therefore, I will set out to accomplish the desires of my heart. As long as my actions are ethical and do not hurt the plight of another, I see no need to apologize for advancing the person I am to another level.“I Finally Understand†is one of many poems written by Mary E. Robinson, of Atlanta, GA, in her first published book, “For the Souls of Sisters.†- Benton Spirit
