Tim Hassall is a songwriter. He's been writing songs since his 12th birthday. This would prove to be a seminal year, catching his first live shows, including Bob Dylan, Crowded House, Joe Cocker and Tina Turner. The next year he would undergo a transformation, convincing his father to kindly drive him to the city so he could listen to "Fitter, happier, more productive" live. Consequently first bands were formed, friendships were made and instruments were tinkered with.
Since then Tim has been a part of a few different musical collectives, most notably Dogs On Leash in California. It was with this group that he wrote, recorded and produced his first EP, Lions In The Shade, which included the track "Lips". This featured the stunning vocals of Liz Parvan, and wound up on the soundtrack of a short film at the LA film festival.
In 2008 Tim returned to Dubai to write and work in the studio after stints in London. It was during this time that he linked up with Faye Roberts, an old friend from high school whom he bumped into the previous year in the "Down The Rabbit Hole Cafe" at Glastonbury Festival. They made good on their promise to jam, and with that The August Company was born. The addition of Katy on Harp and James Sinclair on Drums has led to further adventures in music land and more opportunities to play live; notably Slob Fest, MTV ARABIA's "Floating Stage", Alpha and Chi nightclubs. Recently Ben Harris has been added on bass filling out the band and providing another dimension to their unique sound.
