Cellist Bryan Holt recently finished his Bachelor's Degree in Cello Performance at the University of Toronto while studying with Shauna Rolston. His former teachers include Charita Holod, Paul Widner, Simon Fryer and David Hetherington. Bryan has a very broad style of repertoire, and plays anything from the usual classical standards to more modern music, including folk, rock and even metal. He has played with numerous ensembles and bands, including Brute Force Romeo, Dr. Draw, Garen, Will Currie and the Country French, The Maggiore String Quartet and many others. Bryan is also one of the founding members of the Persephone Trio, which was this year's winner of the Felix Galimir Chamber Music Award at the University of Toronto. In the fall of 2009, Bryan will be returning to the University of Toronto to complete a one year Advanced Certificate in Performance under the tutelage of Shauna Rolston.
