I am R. Ellis Orrall, and I make paintings of stuff I remember from my childhood. One thing I remember is my sixth grade art teacher taught me to be afraid of art, so I didn't paint for 31 years. Then I started to paint just for me, and then people wanted to buy my paintings, and all of this was a great surprise. Now I love to paint and paint some more. I suppose I am not any better than when Mrs. Goodwin said I "would never be an artist!" but now I have stories to tell. So okay then!
