About Konkurent:

Konkurent were formed in 1986 by Emil Anchev. Trough the years they’ve made hundreds of concerts both inside and outside their homeland - Bulgaria - and supported artists like Whitesnake, Toto, Glenn Hughes, Deep Purple (2 times) etc.

Konkurent won many awards including:

- First prize on Rock Ring Festival - Sofia - 1990
- Best rock band - Zlaten Orfey Festival - 1995
- Emil Anchev - Best bulgarian rock singer - Art Rock Center Awards - 1996
- "Neshto Vlajno" (or "Something Wet" in english) - best album of the year - 1996

Again in 1996, french music channel MCM nominates videos of the band - "Do You Wanna" ("Dai Mi Vreme") and "Leave Me Alone" ("Ne, Ne Si Otivay"), in category "Best Video from East Europe", and the band itself in category "Best rock band from East Europe".

In 1997 Konkurent wins the award "Best bulgarian rock band" on the annual "National pop & rock awards", organized by BNT and NDK.

Later on the band presents "Something Wet" on World Music Fair festival in Germany and in 1999 and 2000 they participate in Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland.

Many of the best bulgarian musicians have started their career in Konkurent. The band is one of the few, that didn’t stop existing for 20 years and keep rocking the scene!
