Veronica Aston
Singing and song writing for a number of years, Veronica Aston emerged only recently to produce her material. Her latest song Change is her second co-write with legendary musician Brian Canham of Pseudo Echo fame. The song expresses that moment of truth, when we are left stunned by a loss of some kind. A mixture of emotions are explored while caught between processing the past, present and future. Mr Pink Floyd Man, her other co-write with Brian Canham has a very different feel, being a true to life account of her chance meeting with one of the band members from Pink Floyd, believed to be Nick Mason.
Earlier this year Veronica was involved a long distance co-write with upcoming Swedish band Ecovillage. Horizons and Beyond is a magical track which transports the listener to a peaceful place filled with uplifting shoegaze energy. Veronica contributed lyrics and melody to Horizons and Beyond and is featured singing on the track as guest artist. Horizons and Beyond can be heard at www.myspace.com/ecovillagemusic or click on Ecovillage in the friends space below.
Other projects have involved collaboration with members of Melbourne rock band Dusted Orange, who composed music to her lyrics and melodies for songs River Ballad, Living in London and Bang Bang. The songs were produced and mixed by Brian Canham, who also plays guitar on the tracks with Ben Grayson on piano and Tom Fitzgerald on violin and viola.
Veronica’s next goal is to release an E.P with further songs in the pipeline. ‘I am really looking forward to the creative process of slowly bringing these songs to life. It is pretty awesome to take something you hear in your head to a finished product that everyone can hear and hopefully appreciate. I'd also like to take the opportunity where I can to co-write with other musicians, it's a nice feeling to share music with people and you learn a lot in the process.'
