About Me

Quenga is 100% Chamoru. His roots run deep in the island of Guam (Western Pacific Islands). If you bother to ask him, he may tell you otherwise. "I'm 50% Chamoru and 50% Music." It runs in his veins. His musical diet consists of Dance Hall, Reggae, R&B, Hip Hop, Oldies, Urban, and Pop; and then top it off with traditional and contemporary Island music. Born and raised in Long Beach (California), this son of Guam is a product of two worlds: West Coast meets the West Pacific Islands. His music illustrates the blending influences.Quenga is a true music supporter and lover. While most new artists are chasing their next gig, you'll find him promoting various local and overseas islander bands. His musical talents include: guitar, keyboard, drums, french horn, accordion, ukulele and turn-tables. Since the age of 12, his musical education began in both the streets and classroom. He's done it all from cultural song and dance, battling MC's on the school playground, high school R&B quartets, college acapella groups, to local reggae bands. It was inevitable for Quenga to venture off on a solo project. Early part of 2005, he linked up with OceanStream Records (OSR) to audition for background vocalist. Recognizing his talent OSR, instead, signed him as a solo-artist.
