About Me

Not much to say... Some of my loves in life (besides my husband and family) are music, animals, reading, writing (I'm working on a young adult science-fiction comedy novel at the moment), singing (classical and operatic stuff, mostly), heavy metal, first-person shooter rpg video games (I have a bit of an addiction), drawing or painting. I'm pretty much a typical air-headed, right-brained person who loves to do anything creative, but hates mundane and/or repetitive task work.I'm kind of a nerd. I have a B.A. in English Literature from Christopher Newport University in Newport News, VA. I am almost done getting my teaching license through Mary Baldwin College's Post-Baccalaureate Teaching License program. I will be able to teach English for grades 6-12, but I would prefer to teach high school English. I'm also working on getting my MFA in Children's Literature from Hollins University. I attend a low-residency summer program there, and should hopefully have my MFA in three or four more years.See, I told you I was a nerd.I believe that a person's taste in music is one very good way to decipher his or her personality. My taste in music probably makes it look like I have multiple personalities. Some of my favorite bands/musicians are Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Apocalyptica, Sonata Arctica, Shooglenifty, Flogging Molly, Adiemus, Charlotte Church (her classical stuff), Brave Saint Saturn, Epica, and a lot more. I like whatever makes me happy, really. I don't confine myself to any one type of music. If classical makes me happy one day, then I play classical. Same with opera, techno, pop and whatever else. I also like to sing classically, but thats a whole nother story. I play electric guitar... not well, but I try. I'm not well practiced as it stands. I also like to play around on the piano a little bit.I can't think of anything else to put here now... If you want to know something about me just ask.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Artists, musicians, writers, humanitarians, funny people... Generally anyone who has something worthwhile to contribute to society. I love life and the world around me, and I like to surround myself with people who appreciate all that life has to offer.I'd also like to meet Jesus, Ghandi, Mother Theresa, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Abraham Lincoln. I have questions.
