A New Vision

About Me

Aaron Bagley and Travis Szendrei are the producers and songwriters behind the project, A New Vision. The diversity of their music incorporates rock, industrial, electronic, pop, hip-hop, and acoustic. This original approach to songwriting with no boundaries has lead them to extensive commercial radio play, garnished a notable fan base, and given way to many great live performance opportunities. Originally based in Portland, Maine, their bands (A New Vision / Ransom) have had the pleasure of opening for some of modern rocks biggest acts including, Disturbed, Mudvayne, Trapt, Kill Hannah, Nonpoint, Ra, Powerman 5000 and many others. The duo has been writing music together since they were 14 years old. After putting their long running band, Ransom, to rest, it was less then two years before they had finished two full-length albums under their new name, A New Vision. Along with long time friend and drummer Dan Kramer, Aaron and Travis both brought a younger brother to the mix (Maestro and Alex Zen) to fill out the live sound.
There is no lack of creativity on the band's debut full-length, Immortality. A concept piece with a solid narrative, the album puts a wide array of musical approaches on display. Arranged into three chapters, Immortality is a story of a soul given a second chance at life, a love found and lost, and a reflection on the meaning of life, whereby the soul discovers "you need to understand your life to appreciate your death." The album enjoyed commercial radio play from the singles “See You”, “Take You Away”, “Immortality” and “Completely Undignified”. Recorded on a digital 16-track from the bands home, the album was written, produced, recorded, and mixed by Aaron and Travis.
The new album, Songs of Desperation, continues the concept, and as the title suggests is an album that emotionally moves the listener. “Whenever Aaron and I write a song it is charged by our emotions being moved. There’s a lot of meaning in these songs that people can relate too, and there’s a lot of feeling put into these recordings” says Travis Szendrei. Like the first album the music is very diverse. Standout tracks include; “My Old Ways”, “To Feel”, “Day to Day” and “Song of Desperation”. A New Vision’s remake of the Pink Floyd classic “Comfortably Numb” (a bonus song released exclusively on Myspace), has been creating a big online buzz. All of the songs on the new album demonstrate polished production techniques and mature songwriting that keeps the listener interested. This album also was recorded, mixed, and produced by the band. This time with pro-tools in their home studio.
The new year brings a new focus. With Songs of Desperation being digitally released in the summer 2008, Aaron and Travis are already hard at work on a third album. They are describing the music as “very atmospheric and ambient, with an electronic feel”. The band hopes to debut their new songs to a west coast audience this summer.
