Dear God, I thought you were supposed to be all 'kind' and 'merciful,' yet you keep inflicting pain

About Me

Welcome to my new(er) and hopefully improving MySpace page. I decided I wanted it to be more than just a showcase of my favorite sports teams. It is definitely still that, but I've tried to add some more reflective bits as well. Let me know what you think, y'all.
But first, take a look at some of my pics and witty captions!
You scored as Wicca/Witchcraft. Wiccans are from a relatively new religion, dating only as far back as the early to mid 1900s. This is deceptive, Wicca is based off a religion that is very ancient and whose participants were hunted by the church in massive witch hunts. Although wiccan magic states that it "must harm no one". In the middle ages, a witch would have been hunted and killed if they were caught preforming any magical act, even healing. A sadder fact, though, is that most of the people killed for being witches in history were not in fact witches.

created with QuizFarm.com I think Druid would have been cooler.

My Interests

Things I think/believe:

In addition to murderers, rapists, and child abusers, I believe Hell is populated with people who are insensitive and stupid when it comes to little things...like leaving grocery carts in parking spaces, running stop signs just because the intersection is not very busy, smoking in non-smoking places just to be defiant. Those sorts of things. Burn, bitches!

Oh, and anyone who performs "honor killings." That should be an obvious one, but you still see them in the news.

I think this is a fantastic piece of machinery.

I think Mr. Red should have a permanent spot at Great American Ballpark

I believe that when you're tearing or cutting up a credit card, and you can smell that mysterious burnt plasticky smell, and feel the creases getting hot, that's actually the evil escaping.

I think this is perhaps the greatest boardgame ever invented. And please don't forget about the Cities and ( Zat ) Knights expansion!

I believe that Chris Coleman will be sorely missed at Fulham Football Club, but I also think some sort of change was due...and to quote a wise and elderly friend, it's easier to fire one person than it is 25.

I'd like to meet:

Jackie Robinson, Chad Johnson, Ken Griffey Jr., Howard Stern, Danica Patrick, Tina Fey, Kat Von D (to get some ink and to be told that "the dishes are done, dude"), Bill Clinton, Gwen Stefani, Jon Stewart, Brian McBride, Luis Boa Morte, Edwin Van Der Sar, Posh & Becks, Carson Palmer, Cookie Coleman, Sean Casey, Ruuuuuuuuuuuudi, and this guy:And people who know exactly where this picture was taken:

He's all yours, Cubs fans!

Music:

I can tolerate about 70% of the stations on Sirius. So basically anything but country and metal.

Some specific artists/groups/albums? Lily Allen, Audio Bullys, Oakenfold, Tom Petty, The Doors, No Doubt, O Brother Where Art Thou sdtrk., DMB, Maroon 5, Mylo, Natasha Bedingfield, Daniel Bedingfield, Nelly Furtado, Nirvana (unplugged esp.), Outkast, Coldplay, The Pogues, Rachel Stevens, Chili Peppers...I'm adding to this list as I go.

Movies:

Eventually, I'll try to see whatever Trev tells me is good. But I don't watch many movies anymore. Quien tiene el tiempo?

Television:

Heroes, Friday Night Lights, 30 Rock, Best Week Ever, Seinfeld, ER, Lost, Amazing Race, Miami Ink, My Name is Earl, Survivor, The Riches, Grey's Anatomy, Big Brother, SNL.

And I LOVED Conviction, but NBC took it off the air after one season...Bitches!

Books:

Absolute Favorite = "Ball Four" by Jim Bouton. Bernard Cornwell's stuff is good (especially the Grail Quest series and the Arthur series), although his protagonists are all the exact same person. Stephen King has a gift for writing the "everyman" (and woman). I went through the obligatory American male Tom Clancy phase and I still like to see him interviewed when a Russian sub gets lost or something. I like most of Pat Conroy's books...I think that's because it reminds me of my dad's stories of growing up (except for the bit about anal rape). Anne Rice's Vampire Chronicles are good for a laugh. I just recently read "Zorro" by Isabel Allende, and she seems to have a gift for the art. Next on my list is a book called "The God Delusion," which apparently discusses the virtues of atheism/agnosticism. Looking forward to that one.
I worshipped Michael Crichton after reading Jurassic Park, but I've made the mistake of reading some of his newer stuff (avoid "Next" at all costs...it's SHIT!).

Heroes:

Meredith, for squeezing our son out with no pain medication. Sheer determination and love. Brilliant. And she's a pretty fantastic mama, as it turns out. No surprise there, though, really.
