Alberto Giacalone BiographyBorn in Salemi, Italy in 1959, Alberto Giacalone began studying guitar at the young age of 6. Five years later, fate would introduce him to another musical instrument – the piano. From there, he undertook piano studies at a musical institute on the Coast of Vigevano and later in Alexandria.By 1979, he was enrolled in the SIAE as a composer and lyricist. Using his creativity and strong musical ability, composer Alberto Giacalone, began to bridge a gap between his talents and the world of music.Alberto is comfortable working both domestically and internationally and has crafted music for feature film, television, documentaries, animation, commercials and live performances. Sparked by the challenges of exploring new directions and diverse styles, the projects he pursues are usually ones he feels strongly about, despite box-office projections.His strong ability to conform to different worlds stems from his experiences as a boy where he worked in numerous hotels throughout Italy, France and Switzerland. Because of this, Alberto has a keen sense of producing material which adapts to many different cultures.Alberto spent many years collaborating with the extraordinary Vito Pallavicini, Italian lyricist, who has written songs for famous artists, one of which was performed by the legendary Elvis Presley.In the last two years, Alberto has focused his efforts on composing music for various media. His true passion is composing for television and film.
