About Me

Let's see......
I'm at LIPA, a mystical, magical land dreamed up by Paul McCartney during one of his acid trips in the 60s. I do Sound Technology; recording, production live sound and all that jazz (or blues or rock.... I'm flexible) It's very cool, especially cos I can now go into the bar and ask for the usual (I've always wanted to do that!!)
I'm a musician, I play guitar, bass and drums though not all at once, since I am not an octopus (and can prove it).
I lost the use of my left eyebrow in a freak starfish accident when I was seven, and the memory still haunts me to this day. If you see me with a weird glazed expression and my right eyebrow raised, that's probably what I'm thinking about.
I've got really big eyes! A problem because they sort of 'pop-out' a bit when I'm angry, stressed, tired, bored or pensive. This tends to frighten children and most small mammals.
Anything else? You'll have to talk to me to find out. I'm not filling in one of those fucking myspace questionaires that everyone else seems to have.

Trains

Just thought, so far I haven't really said a thing about how I got about China, as if I just magically beamed in from city to city. I actually spent a significant portion of my trip just traveling, wh...

Ok so, Xi'an.  Xi'an is an old city in China, really old I mean, we're talking thousands of years of history and a fully restored city wall that frankly pisses on Chester's city wall from a ...

Beggars (mainly Beijing)

Jusy FYI, all the blogs from now on are written in England.  I had nowhere near enough spare time in China to type these things, there was too much to see and do! This will hopefully be the last ...

The Great Wall

The Great Wall. Wow, what can I say.  I really don't have the literary talent to do justice to this structure, I really don't.  It's simply breathtaking. Standing on a tower with dusty hills...

"It's the beginning of the rainy season here, so we can expect maybe a few showers down south"  so sayeth our learned leader.  Showers?  No shit.  Arrived in Yangshou last night....

So yeah, China... wow, I could write for hours on end.  As it is, I've managed to sneak into the internet room of a 5 star hotel in Shanghai and I don't know how long it'll be before they throw m...

Smells (Xi'an 31.05.06)

Urban China stinks. I don't mean that it's terrible, I mean, it literally stinks.  It smells like the cities have been deep fried.  This was really hard to get used to a first, you...
