Myspace Layouts at Pimp-My-Profile.com / Retro music

I write songs and play them and sing them. I like alot of different music, but I'm more of a populist than an elitist, and believe music should be inclusive and inspiring to as many people as can be reached.I used to play drums in a band called Loudmouth. We were on Hollywood records, and one of our songs, 'Fly' is in the movie 'Varsity Blues', and the song made it to number 7 on Billboard's Rock charts. We toured with Godsmack, Kid Rock, and Megadeth, and played a bunch of shows with Sammy Hagar, Slash, Limp Bizkit, and Staind, to name a few. I took some time off from music for a few years just to catch up on life and pursue other things. Sometimes you just gotta check yourself and make sure that there's some balance and connection going on. But now, I feel like I have some new music that I'm really proud of, and I'd like to share it with whomever might take an interest in that sort of thing. Style-wise, I would like to think my music sounds classic and modern at the same time, and hopefully, it feels fresh, yet comfortable to the listener, while gently challenging and pushing the envelope of their (and my) comfort zone.I have many new ideas that I'm working on, and I look forward to sharing them with you in the near future. I'll post new songs as I get them recorded, and hopefully, you'll visit my page every now and then to see what's new. I'll also be doing some acoustic gigs pretty soon, so I'll post all that as well. Also, although my main background is in original music, I've always loved playing covers of other peoples material. I know some 'artists' frown upon this, but to me, I'ts an opportunity to play some of the most influential songs ever written ( love em' or hate 'em!). This is the music that plays in our memories when we look back at all the significant events in our lives, and to me it's a blast to play that stuff! Recently, my friend Kurt and I formed a group called 'The Audiots', and we're doing alot of 80's new wave like Human League, Bow Wow Wow, and Adam and the Ants. Playing in this type of band is a first for me so it's exciting and challenging. You can click on our Myspace page from my friends list, or go to 'myspace.com/theaudiots' to find out where we'll be playing.Lastly, I run a little Pro Tools recording studio out of my house called 'The Flood Zone', and I'm working with some really talented bands and artists. As I finish some of these records, I'll point you in their direction. Right now, I'm working with my brother's band, 'Twin Wrecks the Memory', and they are really, really good! Check them out!Hope to see you soon, and God Bless!Sincerely,John L. Sullivan
