Hey guys!
My name is Lauren M., and I am the proud founder of The Urban Global Warming Awareness Foundation (UGWA). This page will be run by myself, and my assistant directors, Kyle M. and Noah Z.
Background (Why Myspace?):
This profile has been created because of a junior research project that was taken to the next level. Originally, the "global warming" page was made as part of a junior research project. Wrapping up 5 months of research, I presented the site, along with my ideas, to a panel of judges, and a small audience. In response, I received a 24 (perfect score) and great feedback. That motivated me to think that it was possible to broaden my horizons, to spread the word to more people about the effects of global warming, and what we must do to stop it. And, well, here we are now, nearly 8 months later. Thank you for your continued support, everyone!
My belief is that an increase in human awareness and cooperation, may significantly decrease the advancement of global warming.
I'd like to eventually build a facility in Providence, RI, to provide innovative education about global warming, and offer active participation in the community, against this issue. The UGWA facility would be available to the public, regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation.
Many people do not realize the true dangers of global warming. This is a growing problem, that will affect future generations. The damage has already begun, and will increase- unless we can slow its progression now. That's where you come in.
What Can You Do?
Every little step counts.
I'm sure you've all heard recyling, and energy-saving, tips. By being an active member on this page, and posting your opinions, you're also making an effort against global warming. And when the proposed facility is finally ready, it is my hope that you'll decide to join. Yes, the cost is free, and no, there isn't a catch. What started out as an average research project is turning into something much more, and your support is greatly appreciated. Help out, and join a great cause!
