The early beginning ..
The history of the band Ender begins about three years ago.
The band have had many different members and names during the years and it all wierdly began with two friends who decided to start a band together. Those friends were Johan and Theodor.
Johan and Theodor were both very new with their instruments, guitars, and they could barley play when it all began. After a while they decided that they needed a drummer and a bassist. They had heard of a guy called Gerry who had played contra base in the fourth grade and they decided to make him a member of the band. Now they needed a drummer.
The whole drummer-issue began with a guy named Kristoffer Sjölander who only participated during the rehearsals three times. He couldn’t join the band because of money problems. That’s when Johan asked his brother Anders to play in the band and the four boys started to rehearsal at a place called Kajplats 305.
Everybody was very bad at playing their instruments in the beginning but this set of members only lasted ‘til they were going to play at “Battle of the Bands†at Arena 305 in December 2005. The whole competition was dreadful because Theodor arrived drunk to the set. Catastrophe! Theodor was out of the band before he knew it.
The search of a new guitarist didn’t take very long when the band found Micke. He was very good and helped Johan to develop his knowledge about the guitar and made his skills much better. Everybody was developing so well, except for the bassist, so after a while the band decided to let him go.
A new bassist wasn’t very hard to find when Johan’s friend Gustav showed interest and shortly after Gustav’s arrival they took in a new singer, Dolly. In the beginning everything seemed to go well with some own songs, they got a new name, Marthor, and such but the band had another reverse when Micke and Gustav decided to leave the band and start their own. The band was now, once again, without a solo guitarist and a bassist.
It was now December 2006 that the band signed up for “Battle of the Bands“once again. The last rehearsal before “the battle†Johan, Anders and Dolly participated. They had no songs, no time to write new ones so they decided, with only 40 minutes to go, to play three christmas-songs. They had signed up, so they had to play something. But it was also now, the last rehearsal before the battle 2006, when Johan came up with the name “Enderâ€.
The night of the battle went great but unfortunatley they didn’t win anything. They had their stage debut as a band and an experience for life.
The weeks went on and on and they kept looking for more members. They had a couple who played for them but no one seemed to fit Ender right except for one day, when Robin came along. He played for the band a couple of times and after a short while he was a member of the band as their solo guitarist.
When December 2007 came, the band signed up for “Battle of the Bands†once again. This time they played their own songs and with a stand-in on bass, Robin’s older brother, Glenn. It went really good though the first song was pretty screwed up and this time, once again, they didn’t win anything…
in the early year of 2008 we decided to record a demo. this we did and Glenn was now a regular member of the band. the demo came out really god and the we wear shooting for the stars now. we had a gig in the malmo-music-festival in agust and everything went according to plans, we even went to the frontpage in the local news paper.
unfortunally Dolly left us two months after that gig and things did'nt go so well anymore. but i mid 2009 Ida joind us and we are writing new songs that are better than ever. and ve are locking forward to a great summer with a new CD and alot of gigs.
So... this is where we, the band, are today with the set Johan playing rythm guitar, Robin playing solo guitar, Anders playing the drums and Ida on vocals. Still keeping the good spirit up!
