pretty much i just like to be happy, it's pretty fun cos it means your not angry or anything, it's real easy as well all you need to do is decide your gonna be. just chill out. i move around a bit, but not that much, lived in south africa for half of last year and sydney for most of this year. just got back to the goldy on saturday. sydney was pretty cool cos it had cheap pub meals and lots of pubs and there was always something going on. the atmosphere was a bit... off though, i dunno. bondi was the only place i felt like people weren't looking down on me for being trashy and dancing like a wanker. oh and purple sneakers too. sneakers is awesome. hmm what else well before that there was south africa. cape town is without a doubt the most beautiful place i have ever been. a lot of people i spoke to in backpackers and things who had travelled the world say it's the most beautiful city in the whole world and i am inclined to believe them. if anyone decides they want to go there let me know and i'll come with. i lived in a township on the cape flats and i was the only white guy who lived in the place, and i learnt something there that i think i always knew, people without money are the most generous and honest. i felt more part of a community there than anywhere else in the world, with the possible exception of island vibe backpackers in j bay, although there you are not so much a community as a family. through necessity i learnt how to communicate to a large degree without words, not so much because people did not understand me, but because some of the kids i worked with had cerebral palsy so bad that they couldn't control their vocal chords well enough to be able to talk like you or me. curiously enough they were the kids i grew closest to and knew the best. plus it always brings a smile to your face when you are hailed on the street not by somebody calling your name but by emitting a strange kind of moan/shout. people always look at you funny. the other amazing thing about cape town is it has a big ass flat topped mountain smack bang in the middle of it, table mountain. no matter how many times i saw it it still grabbed my eye and it was difficult to pay attention to anything else. even when we were watching the cricket at newlands stadium, which is not far from the slopes, i found myself looking at the mountain more than the cricketers. speaking of which, the game we went and saw was definitely the best game of cricket i have ever seen, and it was especially good being on the hill with the crowd to watch it. it was once of the best come backs i have ever seen in any sport. if you wanna hear about it just ask me some time. i did a lot of crazy ass things in south africa, but my favourite thing was to climb table mountain. don't ask me about it, just go and do it and you will understand. a lot of people tend to go through all their friends on here and describe each one, i won't, if you want to find out about them go to their myspaces. apart from that i don't really know what to put on here. the best way to find about me is to sit down and have a drink with me somewhere and you'll learn enough.
