Joan Walsh and her old songs. 'The lost recordings' - 4 pre-mix recordings of my songs done in Toulouse, France, May 2007. 40 hours of recording done, 8 songs in the process of being laid down.. and then the C drive crashed and there were no back-ups done, and so I lost the lot. The 'energy' was most defo 'not right'... These 4 pre-mixes are all that I have from that session. The last time I recorded before this was about 10 years before. Joan Walsh, from Dublin, Ireland, has been writing songs since 1993 with some life detours along the way. As a singer/songwriter, she has performed in various venues in Dublin and around Ireland, and on national and local radio stations. She is a member of the Irish Music Rights Organization (IMRO) since 1995.As a dancer, She is a qualified dance leader in community / creative dance with the Laban Guild U.K, Kinnegad, Co. Westmeath. Also she was involved for a number of years with a Dublin flamenco class, see www.geocities.com/flamencoymas, which performed at her Visual Voice 2. She also has taught flamenco and Laban. Learnt some Sean nos in local class. Presently stepping out and getting down with latin american dancing in local wine bar. me gusta!As an artist, The Visual Voice and Visual Voice 2, Joan's solo exhibitions were held in the Dublin Writers' Museum, '00 and '01. "Visual Voice 3" Gallery Cafe, Gort, Co. Galway Nov / Dec '07. Joan's Visual Voice exhibitions combine her artist and lyrical creativity. Joan's work has been bought by patrons from USA, Europe and Ireland, and has exhibited in Kenny's, Waldock, The Dock Shop. Previously Tig na Gaillime & Nimmo's, Galway; Inishbofin Arts Festival; Sea Week, Letterfrack; Reddest Stolen Cherries, Dublin Writers' Museum.As an actress, Joan has trained in the Performing Arts and has performed in a number of plays. Once & Again, Galway; Our Country's Good, Dublin.As a designer, Joan is a design graduate of the College of Marketing and Design (DIT).As a Traveller, many places.. Inishbofin to Egypt, Turkey, Mexico, USA, Canada, Oz, China, Tibet, Nepal, Europe, Cambodia..Joan presently lives in Ballinamore, Co. Leitrim, Ireland.
