I was a professional bullrider who came to Nashville in 1998. I wasn't into the music scene til I met Donnie "Red" Byrd who was a writer from Walden, Colorado and he said, "I bet you have some great stories we could write some songs about." Next thing I knew we were writing songs and getting them published. We have had some success and more loses but it hasn't slowed me down. Red died a few years back and it tore me up but his songs live on and I keep his name and music alive in Nashville. I also have to add Doug Hobbs in because he really supported me moving to Nashville and helped me get into the music scene. He introduced me to all Nash-Vegas had to offer... He has been a great friend.I want to thank my kids, Riley, Steven, & Kristen, my friends Sam Reeves, John Holder, Jason O. Smith, Brent and Gina Owens, Josh Davidson, Glenn and his beautiful family (Casey, Lane, and BJ), Ben Gibson, Dana Proffit, Elizabeth, Stephanie, Aly, Tara, Morgan, Wenderella, Hope and all my high school and collage friends from East-Tennessee. My online friends and supporters, my songwriting family and friends including John Lancaster and Rachel Procter, Dave Burg, Rivers Rutherford, Chris at ADE., and lastly I want to thank my ex-wife Cheryl, Sara C., Nathan Lacey and NGL Productions.I have to add a special Thank You to my Uncle Billy Honeycutt who first put a guitar in my hands, my Aunt Rose, Aunt Jenny, and Aunt Lucille who have always believed in me even when I/they thought my dreams were crazy. Of course Red Byrd and his family, the other Jason Bennett in Colorado (BennettFolk.com), and more than I think I have room here for.I love my friends and my family and if your name isn't on here, just know that I love and thank you too.
