Home Court is a collection of B&W Photos by Bob Redding depicting Home-Made Basketball Hoops and Backboards. The variations of this simple concept are as surprizing and endearing as the game itself.
We have worked on making the images over the past eight years
(almost 2000 shots). Home Court was edited down to 102 duotones.
The idea for the book came from fellow Texan Keith Carter at his 30th
year show. He said, ”Most photographers think they need to shoot their
book in some exotic place. You can start a book project in your backyard.”
This is where our phobia started...
• All the shots were taken from our company van
• The images were taken on medium format film
and finished on digital
• All images had to be creative, homemade interpretations
of a basket and backboard (much like the original
peach baskets)
• Volume II will be edited and compiled from
submissions by photographers around the world
• A portion of the proceeds will go to the YMCA
