music, playing concerts, partying, constant escapes from boredom, recording demoes, vintage clothes shopping, fucking
interesting and pretty girls, musicians, fun people, observant and philosophical people, ravers/real party people, crazy stalkers, willing slaves, anyone who digs indie music FROM the 80's, not inspired by it
I listen to all kinds of music, I'm extremely openminded. At least that's what I tell people.
The Ramones, Jesus & Mary Chain, White Stripes, Neil Young, Black Sabbath, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Beach Boys, Pavement, Modest Mouse, Eliott Smith, Nine Inch Nails, Al Green, Marilyn Manson, Black Flag, Oasis, Ministry, Simon & Garfunkel, New Order/Joy Divison, The Pixies, Husker Du, Bob Dylan, The Cure, At the Drive-In, The Warlocks, Clinic, Pelican, Gil Scott-Heron, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, The Shins, Anal Cunt, Queens of The Stone Age, Tegan & Sara, Dinosaur Jr., Hole, Velvet Underground, Daft Punk, Gorillaz, early Weezer, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Snoop, Dr. Dre, OutKast, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Smashing Pumpkins, The Ventures, My Bloody Valentine, Radiohead, The Streets, Led Zeppelin, 13th Floor Elevators, Nirvana, Jimi Hendrix Experience, the first Datsuns record, The Beatles, Sigur Ros, The Misfits, Sex Pistols, The Clash, Pink Floyd, Sonic Youth, The Replacements, Cracker, Violent Femmes, Johnny Cash, Blur, Beck, and a whole lotta other stuff. And there's my passion, one of the most important things to me, my band (the) Attachments.
If that weren't enough I'm into D'n'b, Trance, Hardcore, Acid House whatever you got!
kevin smith movies, spike lee joints, fight club, bowling for columbine, memento, old school, requiem for a dream, UHF, a fish called wanda, wet hot american summer, spinal tap, fear and loathing in las vegas, waking life, the graduate, spongebob, ray, no direction home (the scorsese bob dylan movie), the last waltz, blazing saddles, DIG! and wizard of oz w/ dark side of the moon as soundtrack. and more, obviously.
listen: movies shot in technicolor are awesome. and so are retarded comedies like HAROLD AND KUMAR. yeah baby.
Comedy Central is all you need dude, I'm telling you. And a little History channel, especially when it's inaccurate and I can argue with the TV.
I mostly dig nonfiction or things that are just hillarious and weird. It's hard to buy in to the whole notion of a novel...just the facts please. Or I'll read tripped out nonsense/poetry that secretly means alot. "The Fan Man" by William Kotzwinkle will change your life, among other things. Basically, I'm down with postmodern authors like Vonnegut and some of those beat era guys and I'm down with books about music like "Our Band Could Be Your Life" by Micheal Azzerad.
