About Me

Free-lance writer currently based in Las Vegas. Have written or edited over 15 published books (mostly non-fiction, including textbooks and guidebooks) and am currently writing a future best-selling biography of a celebrity who shall go nameless -- I am a "ghost," after all. Over 25 years in advertising and promotions, writing brochures, newsletters, print ads and radio spots, and I also coordinated conventions and developed fund-raisers. A former columnist for the "Las Vegas Sun," I have also written for several other newspapers and magazines, but I have spent the last few years writing backgrounds for historical document catalogs and the web.
Music is my other passion. My grandmother was a classically trained pianist who could play just about everything (including background music for old radio dramas) and my grandfather was a trumpet player who had his own "big band" (before my time, of course), so I grew up listening to big bands and show tunes. I also loved every minute of the "British invasion" and have followed the music of Neil Diamond since the 70s. His fans are the greatest, too -- I have met some wonderful people through the iaisnd.com website, Diamondville (the band website) and on the "concert trail." I am also a fan -- and a friend -- of Neil's conga drummer, King Errisson (see my videos for a clip from King's 2006 show in Las Vegas), and Jay White, a Neil Diamond impersonator who performs at the Riviera Hotel in Las Vegas. I also enjoy inspirational and classical music. I have been fortunate enough to meet a number of my favorite entertainers -- including Drew Carey, who was gracious enough to share a table with me after Neil's concert in 2005.
Originally from Massachusetts (where my family first settled in 1621 -- I'll blame that for my being cynical and rebellious), I have lived all over U.S. as a "military brat," and I am looking forward to doing more traveling -- especially to such "exotic" places as Australia, where I plan to dig for opals, and the U.K. I have three grown children and three beautiful grandchildren and my son's military buddies call me "Vegas Mom" (am I proud of that!). God bless our troops and keep them safe.

My Interests

I'd like to meet:

Neil Diamond fans, fellow music lovers, and turtles (you know who you are. Are you a turtle? You bet....).

I am also looking forward to meeting fans of Chad & Jeremy. Please add my favorite British duo to your friends list (click on their image in my Top 40 friends) so you will receive the latest bulletins on upcoming shows.

The ending of a GREAT show by two legendary (yes, Chad, legendary) British duos at The Cannery in No. Las Vegas, NV on Saturday, July 19, 2008. This was only the second time "the boys" had appeared on stage together (the first was in New York state in the Spring of 2008).

An Attitude of Gratitude

A Tribute to my Dad

"Better late than never," the saying goes. It is far better to be "never late," of course, but a bout with pneumonia (I won!) prevented me from posting a tribute to my dad on Father's Day. Actually, I...
