About Me
I Pledge Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all!!!! God Bless America!!!!
"In the first place, we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the person's becoming in every facet an American, and nothing but an American...There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn't an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag... We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language... and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people." Theodore Roosevelt 1907

When a Soldier who has given ALL needs help, shouldn't we do all WE can to give back? This is the Mission of Community Connections Inc®.

"IF I DIE BEFORE YOU WAKE"
Four years ago, the sting, pain, and agony of the lives lost in 9-11 echoed in the breaths we exhaled when we shouted the clear word TERRORISTS.
Now that word has been reduced to "insurgent" or Jihadists, or Radical Muslim." It is continually watered down as each year passes, until one day we will be catatonic, and eventually someone will call them those "really mad folks for Allah."
We need to as a PEOPLE, as AMERICANS remember not just the lives of the losses we sustained on 9-11, but of ALL lives lost from every battle, conflict, and War. From the BIRTH of this Nation forward to the continuation of this Nation. Without those soldier's, without those countless sacrifices, we would not "BE THE PEOPLE."
We are the very people to REMEMBER-to stand, and to say ---This is the Land of the FREE, because of the BRAVE. Our brave soldiers, fight TERRORISTS, because they choose to face the evil face to face and see the whites of their eyes so we dont have to.©
So I dont have to. Mrs. B @ CCI®

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to The United States of America, for an amount of "Up to and including my life". That is honor, and there are far too many people in this country who no longer understand it. - Author Unknown

In August 2004 a small group (4 women) stepped up to become the FSG for a Unit preparing to Deploy to Iraq. From those humble beginnings, a harsh reality was learned over the course of a few months. Deployments are AWFUL! Not just on the Soldier, but the families as well. Nothing can ever truly prepare you for the true grit of life when your soldier is deployed in a War Zone.
A few months later and much learning, some of our soldiers were injured in IED explosions from TERRORISTS. Not "insurgents", not militants, or other "PC" names given to the groups of Radicals who want American Soldiers DEAD, they are TERRORISTS.
This was as surreal as it gets. Fundraising for the Homecoming, or for care packages, or holidays took a back seat to the horrors we could not get out of our new daily lives and nightmares.
Time passes as it often does, and the Unit returned, some wounded, many with awards, purple hearts, and shrapnel embedded in their bodies for the rest of their life. Some soldiers went back to their daily lives as if nothing bothered them. Others seemed a little different. The reunification processes worked for some, and not for others.
The most horrible events of all were soldiers who made it through the perils of the Triangle of Death, only to come home and then pass away in highway accidents, drunken driving fatalities, or worse, at their own hands.
Why did this happen? PTSD is the new silent killer. It takes many forms. It shows up as a multitude of Pandora's Boxes, it's subtle for some, louder for others. Some cast it away with a Rx from the head doctor, others find the answer to quiet that raging dragon at the bottom of a bottle. Other still, find it possible to quiet the soul only when life stops.
The HEROES we cherish finish the War on the Battlefields of Iraq, Afghanistan, and abroad in lands of dirt, sand, and undefined fronts; then return home with this hidden enemy called PTSD that steals their joy, and robs their victories, and molests their minds by forcing them to take drugs that alters their perceptions of themselves. Soldiers are trained to become hardened pieces of steel. To keep all emotions buried deep in the bowels of their souls save one-RAGE. Even steel has a melting point.
